Born and raised in El Paso, Texas, Leonel Nuñez graduated from Cathedral High School and went on to pursue a higher degree of education in St. Mary’s University in San Antonio, Texas. There, he earned a B.A. in Political Science and International Relations and a Master’s in Public Administration. He went on to attend Arizona Summit School of Law in Phoenix, Arizona. After law school, Mr. Nuñez returned to his hometown and immediately launched his career at the District Attorney’s Office in El Paso County.
During his time at the District Attorney’s Office, Mr. Nuñez gained a reputation for handling difficult cases ranging from Class B misdemeanors to First Degree Felonies such as Driving While Intoxicated, Assault Family Violence, Murder, Aggravated Assaults with Deadly Weapon, and multiple Continuous Sexual Assaults of a Child. Mr. Nuñez has appeared and been in trial in federal court and will be able to evaluate cases based on his experience in those courts.
